Instagram has announced the global launch of a new feature called "Instants," which allows users to share temporary, spontaneous photos that disappear after being viewed. This move reflects the platform's shift toward fast-paced, informal content.اضافة اعلان

The new feature enables users to send photos to close friends or mutual followers. These photos are displayed only once and remain available for 24 hours before automatically disappearing.

Spontaneity Over Perfection
According to a report by TechCrunch, "Instants" blends ideas inspired by apps like Snapchat, BeReal, and Locket. It places a clear focus on candid, temporary content rather than the polished and edited photos for which Instagram is traditionally known.

Key characteristics of "Instants" include:

No Gallery Uploads: Users cannot upload photos from their phone’s gallery or edit them; photos must be captured directly via the Instagram in-app camera.

Minimal Editing: Only simple text can be added, with no additional editing tools or filters available.

Real-Life Moments: Meta stated the goal is to encourage users to share daily life as it actually happens, free from preparation or beautification.

Availability and Privacy
Meta is currently testing "Instants" as a standalone app in specific markets, such as Spain and Italy. Within the main Instagram app, users can access the feature by clicking the small photo icon at the bottom right of the message inbox. Once a photo is shared, recipients can react with emojis, reply, or send an "Instant" back in return.

To enhance privacy, Meta emphasized that the app prevents recipients from taking screenshots or recording the sent images.

Archiving and Control
Personal Archive: Instagram keeps a private copy of sent photos in a personal archive for up to a year, which can later be converted into summaries to be posted on "Stories."

Undo Option: If a photo is sent by mistake, the user can "unsend" it before the recipient opens it.

Customization: Users have the option to temporarily disable receiving "Instants" or to mute and hide content from specific users.

Strategic Context
This step comes as Instagram attempts to return to personal interaction between friends, following years of becoming crowded with advertisements and influencer content.

However, observers suggest that Instagram might be relatively late to the "candid content" market. This follows the decline in BeReal's peak popularity and the fact that many users already utilize "Stories" as their primary method for sharing quick, daily moments.
