Google announced the integration of its Gemini artificial intelligence model into Google Maps, marking a major step toward transforming the app from a traditional navigation tool into an intelligent, conversational assistant capable of understanding and responding naturally to voice-based queries.اضافة اعلان

According to the company, the new integration will allow drivers and users to ask conversational questions while driving, such as: “How long will it take to get home if I stop by the gas station?” or “Is there any traffic ahead on the highway?”

The app will provide accurate real-time voice responses, and users will be able to report traffic jams or accidents using only voice commands—eliminating the need to touch the screen and making driving safer and less distracting.

Google stated that Gemini AI will also improve real-time navigation, analyzing data from millions of devices to predict traffic patterns and offer faster, more efficient alternative routes.

In addition, Gemini can interpret user intent rather than just direct commands, meaning that the app will go beyond giving directions to handle complex queries, such as: “Where’s the nearest open restaurant that serves vegan dishes and is on my way to work?”

The feature will roll out first in the United States over the coming weeks, before expanding to other countries by the end of 2025.

Google noted that this move marks a new phase in applying generative AI across its everyday products, following the integration of Gemini into Search, Google Docs, and the Google Assistant.

With this advancement, Google aims to make Maps more than just a navigation app—turning it into a comprehensive AI-driven platform that understands real-world context and provides personalized, real-time decisions, enhancing smart mobility in modern cities. — Agencies
