Samsung’s new Galaxy A phones for 2022 have officially been announced and are on their way to the market. Amongst them is the Galaxy A73. If the name doesn’t seem familiar, the A73 is an upper-mid-range phone geared for consumers and corporate industries.اضافة اعلان

The Galaxy A73 shares many similarities with the rest of the series, namely the Galaxy A33 and A53. However, it has a few more enhancements and is hence priced significantly higher.

This article will cover some of the A73’s distinguishing characteristics.

A73 highlighting Samsung’s pledged changes

Offering three major Android OS upgrades revealed Samsung’s dedication to the progress of the A73, despite there being little competition from other Original Equipment Manufacturers in terms of fast firmware updates and support — albeit with the occasional hitch. Nonetheless, Samsung continued to push, announcing an improved software policy that extends support for four major Android OS upgrades for certain phones this year.

One of these phones is the A73 which comes with Android 12 and its updated One UI, and Samsung promised four major OS upgrades and security fixes for up to five years. The device will run Android 16 at some point throughout its life, but who knows how One UI will evolve by then?

Despite this, it is clear that Samsung has major plans for these select phones over the years, and if you’re one to piggyback off trends in OS’s and updates, this phone is primed to be one of Samsung’s key focuses for the foreseeable future.

A great camera for the price tag

Samsung equipped the Galaxy A73 with a 108MP main camera with optical image stabilization. Essentially this feature enables users to shoot images or record videos as if supported by a stabilizer, providing smooth, crisp shots even when on the move.

Although a bigger resolution sensor does not necessarily improve image quality, 108MP is a significant improvement over last year’s 64MP camera.

However, in today’s environment, the software and amount of artificial intelligence (AI) involved can make all the difference.

Samsung has not published anything about the camera software — or features — that will launch with the Galaxy A73 yet, so we will have to wait a little longer to see how capable it is. Regardless, the 108MP camera is the highest-resolution sensor Samsung has ever utilized on a mid-range phone.

Built with durability in mind

Over the years, Samsung has taken it upon themselves to increase the durability of their phones, and the A73 is no exception. The phone is IP67-certified, which means it can withstand immersion in up to 1m of fresh water for up to 30 minutes.

Beyond that, the A73 sports a water-resistant design, a Gorilla Glass 5 display protection, and a metal frame. The Galaxy A73 may be less durable when compared to the range of the Galaxy S22 —which now has Armor Aluminum — but, based on the specifications, it should stand up rather well.

Overall this is a step in the right direction. Consumers have been highly vocal about the durability of phones released within the last decade, citing that it was inexcusable for phones to be completely out of service over a single drop off a relatively low height.

So, as more and more phones make durability a talking point, we are bound to see more companies make full use of the trend and provide the end consumer with a superior product.

6.7-inch AMOLED+ display with a fast refresh rate

The Galaxy A73, with its huge 6.7-inch AMOLED+ display, should provide a comfortable viewing experience for both multimedia consumption and light (mobile) office duties. The 32MP selfie camera is integrated into the top Infinity-O display cutout, which gives it a clean look when glancing at the phone from above.

This year, Samsung has improved the Galaxy A73 to a 120Hz display, up from a 90Hz panel last year. Consequently, the user interface should seem more responsive, and animations should appear smoother.

Performance in focus

One of the finest Galaxy A73 features is the powerful Snapdragon 778G processor, which powers the stunning 6.7-inch AMOLED+ 120Hz display. This is the same Qualcomm SoC that Samsung utilized in the Galaxy A52s, and it’s an excellent choice for users who want to use their mid-range phones for almost every mobile job conceivable, including mobile gaming.

The phone will be available with 6/8GB of RAM and lots of CPU and GPU capability. The chipset supports Wi-Fi 6E, has up to 2.4GHz Kryo 670 CPU cores, and an Adreno 642L graphics unit. This means this phone is a powerhouse, and mobile gaming fans are bound to be enthralled with its capabilities.

Plenty of battery life with Samsung’s Super-Fast Charging technology

With immense power comes a lot of potential for energy storage. The A73 5G has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W Super-Fast Charging, so you can be ready to go almost immediately. The battery is 500mAh bigger than last year’s model, but its quick charging features remain the same.

Nonetheless, 25W should be plenty for most users, especially as Samsung’s 25W Super-Fast Charging technology outperforms even Google’s 30W option.

Samsung went above and above this year by equipping all three Galaxy A models with the same 5,000mAh+25W Super-Fast Charging battery arrangement, including the A33, A53, and A73.

However, this comes at a cost. Since the Galaxy A73 does not come with a wall charger, this forces buyers to buy one separately.

Overall take

In brief, we believe that this phone may indeed become one of Samsung’s leading products in the foreseeable future. Power, great displays, and a camera that leaves some similarly priced phones jealous, this phone definitely stands out of the crowd in terms of bang for your buck.

That being said, it’s a long road uphill as more companies such as Oppo and Huawei continue their expansion strategy by diversifying their offerings to a wide variety of audiences.

Whether the A73 will relish in the heat is yet to be seen. However, for now, we can with certainty say that for a mid-priced phone, the A73 is a fantastic addition to anyone’s collection.
