The coaching staff of Jordan's national karate teams have confirmed that players are ready to compete in the 24th Asian Youth, Junior, and Under-21 Championship, scheduled to take place at the Arena Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City from September 8–10, under the patronage of HRH Prince Faisal bin Al-Hussein, president of the Jordan Olympic Committee.

The national teams' coaching staff — headed by technical director Mohammed Fityan, alongside Iranian coach Hossein Rouhani, coach Salem Al-Dajah, and coach Mohammed Affaneh — have been working during the federation's training camp to raise players' technical and physical readiness and address mistakes players might make during bouts, ahead of the championship.
The coaching staff hopes the national teams will present an honorable image and deliver outstanding results for Jordanian karate during the championship, affirming that morale is high within the national teams' ranks, that the athletes will show a high level of responsibility and trustworthiness, and that top placements will be the goal for both the coaching staff and the players.
The coaching staff stressed that the Asian Championship is a genuine opportunity for players to showcase their best, especially given the wide Asian participation, and that a strong crowd turnout will be an important motivator for the national teams to achieve results.
The national teams will compete in bouts across 38 combat categories, with participation from 40 athletes: Joud Abu Khadija, Ayham Affaneh, Lana Ahmad, Tareq Ahmad, Qassem Al-Omari, Rayan Al-Amouri, Milad Al-Aqabi, Raed Al-Aqabi, Fares Al-Awaisheh, Hatem Al-Harasees, Gharam Al-Jahran, Mustafa Al-Najjar, Omar Al-Qannah, Balsam Al-Sa'aydeh, Layan Al-Sayed, Sadeel Al-Sharif, Hamza Al-Sharafi, Obada Al-Saoud, Mohammed Al-Najjar, Sereen Al-Najjar, Lara Darwish, Hala Ghannam, Abdel Rahman Haymour, Layan Haqroos, Batoul Ibrahim, Yasmine Marashdeh, Mohammed Al-Jawhari, Abdel Rahman Mustafa, Hala Nasser, Yara Nasser, Waleed Qattamesh, Rayan Qatnani, Mirana Saleh, Shiraz Saleh, Zeina Selim, Suhaib Samour, Adam Al-Khatib, Limar Sbeih, and Mayar Sbeih.
Referee Course to Be Held Friday
A referee course will be held alongside the championship, with the participation of 95 local, Arab, and Asian referees. The course, overseen by the Asian Karate Federation, is expected to brief referees on the latest amendments to international rules and include promotion exams.
The championship will be attended by World Karate Federation president Antonio Espinós of Spain, who arrives in Amman next Saturday, his deputy Major General Nasser Al-Raisi of the UAE, president of the Asian Karate Federation, and Ibrahim Al-Qannas of Saudi Arabia, president of the Arab and West Asian Karate Federations.
The championship is expected to see the participation of around 350 male and female athletes representing 30 countries: Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Yemen, Kuwait, Palestine, Japan, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, Macau, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, the Philippines, China, Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Thailand, Iran, Turkmenistan, the UAE, Uzbekistan, and Bangladesh.
