Locally, Jordan is home to over 12 Rotarian clubs, with hundreds of members who work together to advance society and help the less fortunate by all possible means.

Through its various activities, members learn how to raise community awareness, become better citizens, and entertain while doing good for others; that is why the club conducts fundraising dinners throughout the year.

The dinners allow members to eat, reunite with other members from different Rotarian clubs, play different games, and win various prizes, all while working towards a fundraising goal.

Recently, the Rotarian clubs held two fundraising dinners within one week.
The first dinner was hosted by the Rotary Club Amman Capital, held last Sunday, November 14, 2021, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel to support its projects. The dinner included a bingo competition, a raffle, and other prizes.

Like all Rotarian clubs, Rotary Club Amman Capital focuses on serving society through various projects in different fields. To support these projects, the club conducts various activities for its members. These events generate financial donations, which contribute to the expenses of these projects.

All proceeds of the fundraising dinners or other events support the club’s projects, including the “Keep Jordan Clean” project, which aims to clean the Dead Sea’s beaches, and some parks that Jordanians use for picnics.

Another project the Rotary Club Amman Capital focuses on is providing dental care for disenfranchised families and donating food and household items during Ramadan, Christmas, and various other occasions for those who need them.

Along with these projects, the club is interested in improving the local agricultural environment and orphan care systems.

This Amman Capital club was established in 2014 and welcomes all cultures, beliefs without discrimination or prejudice.

On a similar note, the Rotary Club of Amman Metropolitan held another fundraising dinner at the Forca International Restaurant on Wednesday. The dinner included a ceremony to welcome five new members to the club, in addition to an auction, where all proceeds would go towards supporting the clubs’ projects and causes.

Among the Rotary club of Amman Metropolitan projects is the transplantation of the arterial ligament for kidney patients, providing electrocardiography machines for older hospitals that lack the equipment, and providing charitable donations for the less fortunate in Ramadan, Christmas, and different occasions.

The club’s latest project is supporting and developing Al-Amal Center for Special Education.

The Rotary’s principal motto, globally, is “service above self,” which is reflected in members’ behaviors. Members ensure that their club’s image is always preserved by ensuring that all meet the club’s standards.

Rotarian clubs also follow specific protocols enforced amongst all members, including prohibiting alcohol use, wearing modest clothing, enhancing personal development, and more.

Rotarian Clubs emphasize the impact that a good member has on others by stating that good actions influence better actions.

As a global network that aims to spread peace and make the world a better place, the Rotary values diversity and welcomes members from around the world of different ages, ethnicities, races, abilities, religions, cultures, and socioeconomic statuses.

Rotarian clubs are a non-political and non-religious organization that seeks to break down the virtual barriers between communities and individuals alike.
