French ‘Knight of the National Order of Merit’ bestowed on Adib Habayeb

AMMAN — French Ambassador to Jordan Veronique Vouland-Aneini on Thursday hosted a ceremony at the French residence in Amman to officially bestow the insignia of “Knight of the National Order of Merit”, granted by the French president, on Jordanian advocate Adib Habayeb, in acknowledgement of his services to the French government and entities in Jordan.اضافة اعلان

Friends, ambassadors and dignitaries attended the ceremony. 
In her speech, the French ambassador reaffirmed the strong relations between the Republic of France and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, stressing that through the work of people like Habayeb, ties between France and Jordan continue to thrive.

Habayeb expressed hope for peace and prosperity in the region, along the French principles of liberty, equality and fraternity.

In December 2001, Habayeb was granted the Decoration of Honor in Gold by the Austrian president for his services to the Republic of Austria. In October 2016, Habayeb was granted the Governor’s General Medallion decoration by the Canadian government.

In May 2019, Habayeb was granted the Knight of the National Order of Merit decoration by the president of France.

Habayeb represented Jordan’s International Chamber of Commerce at the International Court of Arbitration in Paris between 2009 and 2018. In addition, he has served in Jordan, from 1976, as a lawyer and arbitrator in commercial disputes and on many Jordanian government committees concerned wth drafting laws.

Habayeb has supported car rally events in Jordan for more than 15 years and served as a member of the board of directors of the Royal Automobile Club of Jordan. He is currently a member of the board of directors of the Jordan Radio Amateur Society.
