Al-Ahmad delivered a speech on the opening, stating that the season represents a crucial milestone in enriching and refining the theatrical movement. He emphasized that the theatre provides a golden opportunity to discover talents and skills among artists, from writing and directing to scenography and other artistic abilities.
He added that the theatre brings all these elements together in harmony, creating a living artistic tableau.
The opening was attended by Jordanian Artists’ Association President, director Mohammad Youssef Al-Abadi, Director of the Directorate, Al-Karim Al-Jarrah, Director of Jordanian Radio, Muhannad Al-Safadi, along with a wide gathering of theatre professionals, artists, and enthusiasts.
The festival opened with the play “Maksour” (Broken), directed by Omar Al-Dmour, written by Nizar Owais, and starring Ahmad Ismail, Batoul Al-Dmour, Tamara Al-Waqad, and Zaid Al-Syouf.
The play explored themes of loss of humanity and clinging to ropes that lead only to spaces devoid of empathy and compassion. It delved into conversations of despair, pain, and the past, portraying characters transformed by suffering into quasi-human figures, some destroying each other while others cling to fragile threads in hope of escaping emptiness and pain. The play concludes with humanity suspended in the same void.
The season features four diverse performances over four consecutive days:
Thursday, October 9: “Al-Kharab” (Destruction), directed by Al-Mu’tamad Al-Manasir.
Friday, October 10, 2025: “Frigider”, directed by Dr. Al-Hakim Masoud.
Saturday, October 11, 2025: “Al-Aram”, directed by Abdullah Jarian.
