Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson, known as “The Rock,” surprised fans with an unexpected appearance on the set of his new film, Lizard Music, in Brooklyn, New York. He has undergone a complete physical and artistic transformation to portray a 70-year-old man known as “Chicken Man.”

The transformation follows Johnson’s previous collaboration with director Benny Safdie on the 2025 film The Smashing Machine. This time, however, he has undergone a radical change in appearance under the supervision of cinematic makeup artist Kazu Hiro, who previously transformed Tom Cruise into an ageing oil tycoon for the film Digger.
According to Variety, Johnson was spotted on set in Coney Island wearing a brown hat and jacket and carrying a slice of pizza alongside young actor Theo Clark LeBeau.
Film details
The film is based on the popular children’s book by Daniel Pinkwater. It follows a boy who accidentally discovers lizard musicians on late-night television, leading him to befriend an eccentric man who is accompanied by an elderly chicken.
The cast also includes Rachel McAdams, Colman Domingo, David Krumholtz, Jeff Goldblum, Alicia Silverstone and Regina Hall.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on Christmas Day 2027.
In previous remarks at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, Johnson revealed that he was convinced to take the role after just 45 minutes of conversation with the director. He said he had to lose around 14 kilograms of his trademark muscle mass to portray the character authentically.
