AMMAN — The Jordan Phosphate Mines Company on Tuesday organized a workshop in Aqaba on the treatment of phosphogypsum, which is a byproduct of fertilizer.اضافة اعلان

The workshop’s participants, which included experts and specialists discussed how best to deal with phosphogypsum waste.

The workshop also aimed to allow participants to exchange experiences and discuss the latest practical applications of phosphate in agriculture, soil stabilization, and road construction, according to a statement from the mines company.

The issue of the so-called “gypsum mountain” near the phosphate complex was also discussed and The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority Nayef Bakheet stressed the importance of protecting the environment.
