It added that the Red Sea off Aqaba is rich in marine life, encouraging divers to explore stingrays, moray eels, seahorses, turtles, lionfish and numerous other colorful fish species.

According to Lonely Planet, the area is home to more than 510 fish species, while diving sites along the coastline range from shallow coral gardens and underwater canyons to shipwrecks.

Jordan’s Red Sea was included in Lonely Planet’s autumn travel guide, which encourages travelers to take advantage of the fall season to explore new destinations and enjoy more moderate weather.
