Misto added on Tuesday that the return will include many destinations from Europe to Jordan, with more than 18 destinations and a gradual increase to cover more. He noted that Ryanair and Wizz Air already have operating permits from the authority to run flights to and from Jordan, according to Al Mamlaka TV.

However, the authority has requested both airlines to provide the number of flights and operating days after mid-September in preparation for granting the necessary operating permits, according to Misto.

New airline applies to operate flights to Jordan

Misto revealed that the low-cost airline Eurowings has officially applied to the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission to operate flights to Jordan from different destinations.

He explained that the authority has requested the company to provide a set of documents, detailed information, flight schedules, and the required technical and security details to complete the file and issue the necessary permits.

The Jordan Tourism Board recently signed an agreement with Eurowings to facilitate its flights to and from the Kingdom.

Boosting Jordan’s tourism competitiveness

The Jordan Tourism Board had previously announced that Wizz Air and Ryanair will return to full capacity in Jordan on October 26 of this year.

The board stated that the expected European destinations served by these airlines include Budapest, Paris, Rome, Brussels, Memmingen (Germany), Bucharest, Poznan and Krakow (Poland), in addition to Italian cities such as Pisa, Madrid, Venice, Milan, as well as Prague and other destinations.

The board emphasized that diversifying and increasing direct air routes with European markets will support the national tourism strategy, stressing that the availability of low-cost flights will enhance Jordan’s competitiveness as a global tourism destination.
