Aqaba ports’ cargo handling up by 9%

AQABA — Handling at Aqaba ports increased by 9 percent during the first five months of 2021, director general of Aqaba Company for Ports Operation and Management, Khalid Al-Maaytah, said on Saturday.اضافة اعلان

He added that the coastal city’s ports handled around 5.8 tons of cargo during the first five months of this year, compared to 5.3 tons during the same period last year.

Maytah said that there is a 23 percent increase in exports, and 3 percent in imports.

He noted that the number of ships that docked in Aqaba port this year amounted to 717, constituting a 6 percent increase from the same period last year.
