U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures dropped $2.14, or 2.07%, to $101.13 per barrel as of 02:32 GMT. Brent crude futures also declined $2.12, or 1.82%, to $114.60 per barrel.

Oil prices had ended Friday's session nearly $3 per barrel higher after attacks by Houthi militants on Saudi Arabia raised concerns about energy supplies. Brent recorded a weekly gain of 6%, while WTI rose 2.3%.

Saudi Arabia resumed operations at parts of its main airport on Sunday following damage caused by an earlier round of Houthi attacks.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia will begin storing crude oil in Singapore in the second half of 2027 to strengthen the resilience of its regional supply chain, the energy ministers of both countries announced on Monday.

In the United States, the Department of Energy said Friday that it had authorized the release of 400,000 barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to address supply disruptions linked to a refinery in Louisiana.
