The selling price of one gram of 21-carat gold, the most preferred by citizens in the local market, reached 95.60 Jordanian dinars on Saturday for sale from jewelry shops, compared to 91.20 dinars for purchase.
The selling price of one gram of 24-carat and 18-carat gold for purchase from jewelry shops reached 109.70 and 84.80 Jordanian dinars respectively.
According to the head of the General Syndicate of Owners of Jewelry and Goldsmith Shops, Rabhi Allan, the price of the “Rashadi lira” weighing 7 grams reached 670 dinars, while the “English lira” weighing 8 grams reached 765 dinars.
Allan said that supply and demand for gold in the local market are weak, which is usually the case during this time of year.
He pointed out that the yellow metal closed its weekly trading in the global market on Friday at $4,710 per ounce, noting that relative stability remains the main feature of gold prices while awaiting any new political developments between the United States and Iran.
