UK and US Agree to Eliminate Tariffs on Medicines

The British government has reached a new agreement with the United States to maintain tariffs on British pharmaceutical exports to the US at zero, while the UK commits to increasing the National Health Service’s (NHS) payments for new medicines by 25 percent.اضافة اعلان

According to The Guardian, the agreement announced on Monday aims to preserve British pharmaceutical companies’ investments in the US market and create additional jobs there. The newspaper added that Washington has pledged to ensure British citizens have access to the latest pharmaceutical innovations and to refrain from targeting UK drug-pricing policies in any future investigations during President Trump’s term.

This development comes six months after a previous agreement capped tariffs on most British exports at no more than 10 percent.
