The President of the Livestock Breeders Association, Zaal Al-Kawalit, predicted on Tuesday that the prices for sacrificial animals (Adahi) this year will be close to those recorded during the last Eid Al-Adha.

Al-Kawalit told Al-Mamlaka that prices for local and Romanian sheep are expected to range between 220 and 300 JOD. He noted that Syrian goats and sheep will also be available for sacrifice at prices reaching 250 JOD, highlighting that their weights will be suitable for ritual requirements.
Market Dynamics
Demand: Expected to be lower than last year due to weakened purchasing power.
Supply: Expected to be "good," with final prices dictated by supply, demand, and the specific type of animal.
Meat Prices: General meat prices in the markets have already begun to decrease as supply increases.
Government Measures
Minister of Agriculture Saeb Khraisat stated that the ministry will continue supporting efforts to bolster food security in meat supplies by diversifying import sources and monitoring supply chain readiness.
The ministry had previously announced it would permit the importation of live goats, live sheep, and fresh and chilled meat from Syria and Egypt, a move intended to drive down local meat prices.
