AMMAN — A
report issued by the
Department of International Trade in the UK stated that
Jordan is among the top 88 economic partners of the UK.

The report stated that
the UK’s exports to Jordan increased by 7.9 percent in 2021 compared with the
same period of 2020, coupled with an increase in the UK’s imports from Jordan
by 31.8 percent during the same period.
The report also highlighted
the volume of economic trade between Jordan and the
UK in goods and services,
which reached $850 million during the period from July 2020 until June 2021
with an increase of 4.7 percent.
The report indicated
that Jordan ranks 77th on the list of the UK’s export markets, 73rd
in exporting goods and services, 99th in the shared import market, 87th in
exporting goods, and 108th in importing services from the UK. The rankings are valid until the second
quarter of 2021.
The top five goods that
exported to Jordan were mechanical power generators, at 20.6 percent of exports,
foodstuff at 4.6 percent, and medical and pharmaceutical products at 4.6
percent.
Major commodities
imported from Jordan were ore raw material and metal scrap, at a value of 56
million Sterling Pound, fruits and vegetables at 8.1 million, and clothing at
6.5 million.
