The two sides discussed the proposed agenda for the Jordanian-Romanian investment forum and its targeted sectors, especially food industries, the agricultural sector, fertilizers, and the information technology sector.

The meeting discussed forming the Jordanian-Romanian Business Council between the two JBA and the Jordanian-Romanian Economic Cooperation Association, a JBA statement said Sunday.

Tabbaa said that Jordan enjoys a stable investment environment and has an open economy that has access to the world through trade agreements with various global blocs that have to turn into a regional commercial and investment hub.

He added that Jordan had been a leading country in the ICT sector, noting promising opportunities for cooperation with the Romanian side.

He talked about the JBA's role n promoting business and investment environments in the Kingdom through its partnerships with various private sector institutions.

Maior expressed his countries' desire to develop its economic relations with Jordan, noting that organizing a Jordanian-Romanian investment forum confirms the two countries need to learn about the economic opportunities in both countries.

He underlined the importance of diversifying the exchanged goods between the two countries, whether exports or imports, to enhance trade exchange, especially since Jordan is a strategic partner for Romania. He is looking forward to further increasing trade and investment cooperation to benefit both countries.

The Kingdom's exports to Romania amounted to about $9 million in 2020. They focused on fertilizers, oils, and soap, compared to $355 million in imports, most notably: grains, live animals, meat, wood, and its products.

A number of members of the JBA board of directors attended the meeting.
