According to details, the estimated cost of the amusement city project is around JD 50 million, while the international exhibition and convention center is estimated at JD 20 million. The estimated cost of Al Hussein bin Abdullah II International Stadium stands at approximately JD 200 million.

Amusement City: A New Tourism Destination

The amusement city project is one of the initiatives listed under the Tourism Sector Investment Activation Initiative. It aims to establish a modern amusement city that will serve as a new year-round destination for families and youth, and as an attraction for both domestic and international tourism.

Data indicate that the amusement city will be the first of its kind in Jordan, designed to provide a modern entertainment destination built to the highest standards. This is expected to strengthen Amra City’s position as an integrated hub for entertainment and tourism activities, with completion in accordance with top specifications.

Boosting Conference Tourism

As part of the Jordanian Exhibition and Convention Center Initiative, the Amra City project includes the establishment of an international exhibition and convention center at an estimated cost of JD 20 million, on an area of 500 dunums. The project aims to boost conference tourism and attract major exhibitions and events.

According to available information, the project will include specialized halls for exhibitions, conferences, and events, in addition to advanced digital infrastructure and operational efficiency based on sustainability standards. This will enhance the Kingdom’s capacity to host major regional and international events.

International Stadium and Integrated Sports Infrastructure

The sports city project includes the construction of Al Hussein bin Abdullah II International Stadium, one of the most prominent projects of the first phase of Amra City. The stadium is estimated to cost JD 200 million, will be built on an area of 1,000 dunums, with a capacity of 50,000 spectators, and is expected to be completed within four years.

Details indicate that the project will be implemented in accordance with the highest global specifications, standards, and modern stadium technologies, enabling it to host local and international tournaments. It will feature a distinctive architectural style reflecting Jordan’s rich historical heritage.

The project will also include parallel training fields, commercial and service facilities, supported by the latest technological systems and advanced broadcasting technologies. In addition, it will adopt sustainability solutions, including self-generated energy, efficient water use, and effective space management.

Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan launched the Amra City project on November 29, 2025. The project represents a new model for urban development and long-term population growth management, adhering to sustainability and modernity standards, and opening promising investment and economic opportunities. It is envisioned as the nucleus of a future model city for youth and the next generation, with development phases extending over 25 years across successive governments.

The project was launched in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II outlined in the Royal Letter of Designation, to continue work on this strategic initiative due to its pivotal role in easing pressure on the cities of Amman and Zarqa through partnership with the private sector, in line with the objectives of the Economic Modernization Vision under the Quality of Life pillar.

The first-phase projects of Amra City will be established on an area of 40,000 dunums out of a total area of nearly 500,000 dunums. The Jordanian Company for the Development of Cities and Government Facilities will oversee and facilitate the implementation stages. Work is scheduled to begin in early 2026 and continue until 2029, with some projects expected to be completed within two years.
