Energy Regulation: Rationalizing Consumption is Our National Responsibility to Ensure Continuous Supply
The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission affirmed that rationalizing electricity consumption is a national responsibility to ensure the continuous supply of electricity, especially after the unprecedented rise in electrical loads reaching 4,700 megawatts, the highest in the Kingdom’s history.اضافة اعلان

In a statement issued today, Tuesday, the commission said that rationalizing consumption helps reduce pressure on the electrical grid and maintains continuous electricity supply to hospitals, health centers, civil defense, and vital facilities.

It called for rationalizing consumption during peak hours, between 5 PM and 9 PM, by postponing the use of high-load appliances and turning off unnecessary lighting, stressing that “every contribution makes a difference and prevents outages.”

The commission pointed out that the success of the national electricity system depends on the cooperation of everyone, including citizens and concerned entities, and that rationalizing consumption during peak times is a fundamental pillar for grid stability.

It outlined five simple daily steps that contribute to the continuity of electrical power: setting air conditioners to 24°C, turning off unnecessary devices, postponing vehicle charging outside peak hours, and avoiding the use of high-load appliances during peak times.
