The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Wednesday that it carried out a series of new airstrikes against Iran.
CENTCOM stated in a post on "X" that these strikes aim to further degrade the military capabilities used by Iranian forces to attack commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

US forces had previously conducted a round of strikes on Iran overnight Tuesday-Wednesday, targeting dozens of military objectives near the Strait of Hormuz and coastal areas of Iran for the fourth consecutive night. The seven-hour wave of strikes targeted Iranian missiles, drones, naval capabilities, and coastal defense systems to undermine Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian crews.
These strikes took place on the same day US forces resumed a naval blockade imposed on ships transiting to and from Iranian ports and coastal areas.
