Pezeshkian stressed that the peoples and governments of the region do not need an “external guardian” imposing dictates upon them, considering direct dialogue the only path to achieving lasting stability. He emphasized that “no country benefits from war, violence, or conflicts.”

Praise for Regional Diplomatic Efforts

Within the framework of promoting what he described as an “internal solution,” the Iranian president expressed his deep appreciation for diplomatic initiatives led by countries including Oman, Egypt, Turkey, Iraq, and Azerbaijan.

He noted that the efforts of these nations’ leaders to reduce tensions and bring viewpoints closer together represent a model of what can be achieved when the region takes charge of its own affairs.

Pezeshkian added that Tehran supports all initiatives aimed at preserving state sovereignty and securing vital corridors away from polarized international alignments.

Tehran’s Messages Ahead of Geneva Talks

These remarks come at a sensitive time, coinciding with diplomatic efforts to ease unresolved issues, including indirect talks with the United States.

Through his emphasis on rejecting “guardianship,” Pezeshkian appeared to signal that any international agreements must respect regional balances and not come at the expense of neighboring countries’ interests.

This tone aligns with statements he made during recent revolution anniversary celebrations, reaffirming Iran’s consistent approach toward reducing tensions and resolving issues with its Arab and Islamic surroundings.
