According to the report: "Based on an analysis conducted by The New York Times, debris believed to be from the site of the deadly February 28 strikes on a naval base and an elementary school in southern Iran bears markings consistent with a U.S. cruise missile."
Previously, ABC News quoted experts who studied footage of the alleged strike, suggesting that the attack on a girls' school in Iran may have been carried out using a U.S. "Tomahawk" cruise missile.
The United States and Israel began bombing targets in Iran on Saturday, February 28, resulting in damage and civilian casualties. In response, Iran has been launching retaliatory strikes against Israel and targeting U.S. military sites across the Middle East.
On the first day of the large-scale U.S.-Israeli campaign against Iran, a girls' school in Minab was targeted. According to the latest statistics, 171 people were killed, the majority of whom were children. Human Rights Watch has called for a war crimes investigation into the February 28 bombing of the school.
