The spokesperson made these remarks during a daily press briefing in response to an inquiry following U.S. threats to "strike and obliterate" Iranian energy facilities if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened within 48 hours, according to the Chinese news agency (Xinhua).
Lin Jian noted that the ongoing war in the Middle East is spreading and expanding. He warned that if the scope of fighting continues to broaden and the situation escalates further, the entire region will plunge into an irreparable state.
He added that "the use of force will only lead to a vicious cycle."
