In a joint statement issued Wednesday evening, the nations condemned what they described as "planning for assassination operations" and other harmful activities carried out by the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Quds Force, and the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security in Europe, North America, and Australia.
The statement added that these activities included targeting Iranian dissidents, journalists, and Israeli communities and interests, emphasizing that the signatory countries stand united in their resolve to protect their nations and peoples from these threats.
The nations stressed that "the Islamic Republic of Iran must stop these activities immediately," noting that the relationship between Iranian security agencies and international and local criminal groups spans a long period, and deeming the use of such groups as "reprehensible."
The signatory countries also condemned what they described as a recent campaign of attacks in several European countries targeting Jewish communities, Iranian journalists, and American interests. They emphasized that attempts to kill, kidnap, harass, intimidate, or otherwise target individuals on the territory of the signatory nations undermine national sovereignty and international norms, calling for an immediate end to these practices.
The statement was signed by Albania, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
