World Bank to finance Jordan’s COVID-19 response with $58m

AMMAN — The World Bank (WB) is expected to grant Jordan a $58 million loan over the coming months to finance the country’s COVID-19 emergency response.اضافة اعلان

The WB had financed the response plan last year with $20 million.

According to the WB, of the funds, $51 million will be spent on buying and distributing vaccines and shoring up the country’s healthcare system, $5.75 million for enhancing the vaccine delivery system, $1.25 million for enhancing clinical management for Syrian refugees, and $2 million for management, monitoring and evaluation.

The bank’s board of directors are expected to meet next month to endorse the loan.
