Spokesperson at the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Omar Salama, confirmed that the water situation in the Kingdom is critical, adding that the ministry is intensifying its efforts to provide residents with drinking water in “a just way”.

Salama admitted that some areas have issues and suffer from “imbalances in distribution, and the ministry and technical cadres are trying to solve them within available capabilities”.

He added that the ministry has introduced new sources of drinking water in some areas, while increasing quantities pumped from Disi water basin.
