AMMAN — The World Bank formally approved a request
by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation to extend the reform
management strengthening project till 2024, according to Hala News.

The bank’s Trust Fund Steering Committee approved Jordan’s
request, submitted on November 17, to restructure the project to match the
updated reform timeline, according to the WB data.
On October 19, Jordan’s Cabinet approved the updated reform
plan, which expanded the scope of reforms in Jordan.
The $6.5 million project aims to strengthen coordination and
implementation of policy reforms, with a focus on the five-year reform agenda.
The updated reform plan includes providing up to $9.3
million in additional funding to the project itself.
According to the World Bank, the project aims to assist
ministries and public administrations in implementing the reforms they
identified as being necessary, which include public investment management,
public-private partnerships and public procurement reforms.
The World Bank classified the implementation status of the
project in May 2022 as “moderately satisfactory”.
