AMMANThe Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) published a statement warning citizens not to respond to international calls with unknown sources.

The TRC urged citizens to not return these missed calls from unknown international numbers that only ring once and then hang up repeatedly, according to a local news outlet.

These calls may cost the caller exorbitant prices that will be deducted from their balance.

The commission stated that the purpose of these calls is to harm individuals and deceive them to obtain illegal financial gains.

AdviceIn the statement the commission published the following guidelines to help individuals:

  • Do not return missed calls from unknown international numbers that only ring once and then hang up repeatedly.
