AMMAN — There are some 65,000 Jordanians working in Qatar, of whom about 5,000 were appointed during the last two years in various jobs under a plan to boost Jordanian employment in Qatar that was announced in August 2018, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

Under the plan, Doha provided 10,000 job opportunities during the first phase, while 10,000 additional opportunities were set aside for Jordanians in the second phase.

The vice president of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and industry Mohammad Al-Kuwari said that Jordanians had contributed highly in providing expertise to Gulf countries.

The most prominent sectors that employ Jordanians are banks and financial institutions, contracting companies, real estate, construction, the trade and retail sector, tourism sector, and technology sector.

Exchange and money transfer companies and banks in Qatar estimated the volume of remittances from Jordanian workers during the first half of 2021 to be about $220 million.
