Zarqa witnessed the implementation of a slew of projects in various sectors, within a series of Royal initiatives, which were carried out under the King's directives in various regions countrywide, he noted, adding that these projects are "complementary to the government's plans and programs, and don't replace them."

Continuing: "The King constantly affirms that his first priority, and the real challenge facing Jordan, is to address the problems of poverty and unemployment, to alleviate the citizens' suffering, he noted, adding that His Majesty is keen to provide Jordanians with a decent life."

His Majesty attaches "remarkable" importance to this challenge, and directs the need to achieve the highest levels of governorate-based development balance to improve the citizens' living standards and protect the poor classes and extend care for the needy," according to Issawi.

In addition, he said the King's attention covers support to "pioneering and creative" ideas, and implement income-generating development projects that provide job opportunities, in a way that invests youth energies and capabilities, in the process of sustainable development.

Turning challenges into opportunities is "a deep-rooted" Royal vision that outlines the path for the future, he noted, adding that Jordan has overcome many challenges and continued the road to achievement.

Issawi also affirmed the King’s keenness to maintain continuous contact with Jordanians to check on their needs and meet their demands.

The Royal initiatives, implemented in partnership with concerned authorities and civil society institutions, have enhanced development and humanitarian work system in local communities, which would lead to building economically self-dependent societies by "optimally" responding to their real needs and target groups, Issawi told the governorate's dignitaries.

Issawi also noted improving the services level provided to citizens and meeting urgent and necessary demands is based on partnership among all stakeholders, as well as cooperation with various institutions.
