Royal decree adjourns Parliament’s ordinary session

AMMAN — A Royal decree was issued on Monday adjourning Parliament’s ordinary session as of Sunday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. During the ordinary session, lawmakers passed a package of laws, including the elections and political parties bills. The 135-seat elected Lower House and the 60-member Upper House of Parliament, also known as the Senate, will go into a summer recess as of Sunday. It was not immediately clear if His Majesty King Abdullah will summon both houses into a special summer session. During the ordinary session, lawmakers passed a package of laws, including the elections and political parties bills.

The 135-seat elected Lower House and the 60-member Upper House of Parliament, also known as the Senate, will go into a summer recess as of Sunday.

It was not immediately clear if His Majesty King Abdullah will summon both houses into a special summer session.
