Qatar imported 460 tons of Jordanian dates in 5 years

AMMAN — Over the past five years, Qatar has imported a total of 460 tons of Jordanian dates. The highest volume of imports occurred in 2022, with 130 tons, representing a 30 percent increase compared to the previous year, 2021. Jordan exports various types of dates to Qatar, including "Majhool" and "Barhi," Hala News Reported.  Jordan considers the Gulf region, particularly the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, as key external markets for its date exports. This preference is due to the alignment of quality standards and food safety measures between Jordan and the Gulf nations, making it a favorable destination for Jordanian date products.
