Prince El Hassan honors El Hassan bin Talal Prize for Scientific Excellence 2022 winners

AMMAN - HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Science and Technology, honored winners of El Hassan bin Talal Prize for Scientific Excellence 2022, which was allocated this year to vocational and technical education institutions, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

The ceremony, which was held Thursday, at the Royal Cultural Center, was attended by Princess Sarvath El Hassan, chair of the award committee, Princess Sumaya El Hassan, Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, former prime ministers, ambassadors of Arab and friendly countries, university presidents and academics.


Addressing the event, Prince El Hassan said technical skills, including innovation, development and creativity, are the basis for industrialization and empowerment, pointing out that "true" investment is investing in human capital, which represents skills, knowledge and expertise.



Prince El Hassan noted: "This award reflects faith, morals, science and work. We affirm daily the values aimed to provide jobs and production, which expresses conviction that Jordan is steadfast by keeping in touch with knowledge and science on the one hand and socially by integration with the productive community."

Noting a set of recommendations to overcome the challenges facing Jordan's educational and vocational training sector, he referred to the need to change social perceptions and activate the vocational laws, which would reflect "positively" on regulating the the worker-employer relations, achieving balanced policies, and shifting from lending small projects to partnership with lending institutions.

In this regard, Prince El Hassan also said providing tax and non-tax incentives would stimulate investments in the private sector, noting the need to maintain a "large" number of trainers and teachers of vocational education.
