Ashraf Telfah, 47, was found in critical condition in his Cairo apartment before being taken to a nearby hospital, where he died two days later, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The hospital report cited a cerebral hemorrhage, pulmonary edema, impaired consciousness, and poor circulation as the causes of death, Foreign Ministry spokesman Sinan Majali said.

While reviewing footage from closed-circuit cameras placed around the apartment, Egyptian authorities reported to the Jordanian embassy that they found no evidence that anyone had broken into the building, according to Majali.
