PM extends Defense Order 28 on debtor's imprisonment decisions

AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh decided on Wednesday to extend for one month the implementation of Defense Order No 28 of 2021, which postpones decisions related to the imprisonment of debtors, to be effective through January 31, 2023.اضافة اعلان

The Prime Minister also directed concerned parties to coordinate with the Jordan Judicial Council on debt cases and provide statistics on the number of cases so far adjudged by courts, in preparation for revoking Defense Order No28, issued pursuant to Defense Law No. 13 of 1992,in a way that preserves the rights of all parties.

In addition, Khasawneh issued Communiqué No62 for 2022 for the purpose of implementing the above decision, which was slated for publication in the Official Gazette on Wednesday.
