NEW YORK — In an emergency session held on Monday night, the United Arab Emirates initiated a vote on a draft resolution presented by ten elected members of the United Nations Security Council. This resolution called for a ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. In his address to the UNSC, Ambassador Mahmoud Daifallah Hmoud, the Jordanian Permanent Representative to the UN, speaking on behalf of the Arab group, expressed his astonishment at the audacious claim made by Israel, an occupying state, portraying itself as a victim. He emphasized that the ongoing Israeli conflict in Gaza and the resulting humanitarian crisis undoubtedly signal the potential for its expansion and proliferation throughout the region.اضافة اعلان

He went on to assert in his speech that Israel would persist in its deadly actions as long as there are those willing to justify its crimes, while also condemning the silence of the UNSC in the face of Israel's aggression against the Gaza Strip, Al Mamlaka TV reported.

He posed a question to the assembly: "Is it not high time for the Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities, respecting the principles and objectives enshrined in the United Nations Charter, and to work toward putting an end to this war and aggression?"

He called upon the international community to exert concerted efforts to pressure Israel into ending its delays in permitting urgent aid to flow in, ensuring that adequate quantities reach the Gaza Strip to address its deteriorating humanitarian situation.
