No parliamentary parties without women and youths, says senator

AMMAN — Senator Talal Al-Sharafat, in an interview with Al-Mamlaka TV on Tuesday, said that parliamentary governments cannot be achieved without enabling the youth and women to play a role in political life.اضافة اعلان

He also said that “many laws received from the Lower House are approved by the Senate as they are, as was the case with the Elections Law. Others, like the Political Parties Law, are sent back, but in all cases, the Senate discusses legislation away from any electoral agenda”.

Professor of Constitutional Law Laith Nasraween, also present at the interview, said that more mistakes “occur in the Lower House than in the Senate”, expressed hope “that there will be a change in the voting mentality of the citizen”, and stressed that “the method of funding parties was not successful”.
