A number of heads of delegations attending the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women in New York met with Wafa Bani Mustafa, Minister of Social Development and Chair of the Ministerial Committee for Women's Empowerment.
Bani Mustafa spoke separately with her counterparts from a number of participating nations about the possibility of further coordination and collaboration in numerous areas of shared interest.
Bani Mustafa spoke about national efforts in the social protection sector and the services offered to target groups, according to a statement released by the ministry today. She called for the sharing of knowledge and experiences in various areas, especially in the protection sector, women's empowerment, and programs for the most vulnerable groups.
In her meeting with her Algerian counterpart, Dr. Soraya Mouloudji, Minister of National Solidarity, Family, and Women's Affairs, they talked about how to get the two nations to work together on social development, how important it is to improve cooperation opportunities, and how they can both benefit from each other's knowledge in areas of shared interest.
Along with discussing areas of cooperation and joint coordination across a number of programs implemented by both sides, Bani Mustafa also presented national efforts and achievements in enhancing women's economic participation and empowerment during her meeting with Counselor Amal Ammar, Chairwoman of the Egyptian National Council for Women.
