King to attend joint summit in Saudi Arabia, in the presence of Biden, in mid-July

AMMAN — US President Joe Biden will visit Saudi Arabia on July 15 and 16 upon the invitation of King Salman, according to the Saudi press agency.اضافة اعلان

The agency reported on Tuesday that the US president will meet with the king and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman “to discuss areas of bilateral cooperation as well as joint efforts to address regional and global challenges”.

A statement from the White House said that Biden will also attend a Summit of the GCC plus Egypt, Iraq, and Jordan while in the kingdom.

The Saudi royal court announced on Tuesday that Biden will visit the kingdom for the first time since taking office in early 2021.

The royal court explained that the visit schedule includes, on its second day, Biden’s attendance of a joint summit, called by King Salman, with leaders of the GCC countries, His Majesty King Abdullah, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi.
