AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday received a letter from Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, delivered by Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra, according to a Royal Court statement. During a meeting at Basman Palace, King Abdullah asked Minister Lamamra to convey his greetings to the Algerian president, wishing the people of Algeria further prosperity and progress. His Majesty reaffirmed the deep-rooted ties with Algeria, expressing keenness to step up cooperation across various fields. The King emphasised the need to bolster joint Arab action to overcome any challenges facing the region. The meeting also covered a number of regional and international concerns, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, the delegation accompanying the Algerian minister, and Algerian Ambassador to Jordan Mohamed Sherif Kourta attended the meeting.
