Jordanian girl dies in Turkey earthquake

AMMAN ­— The Jordanian embassy in Ankara confirmed the death of a Jordanian girl due to the destruction caused by last week’s earthquake, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.اضافة اعلان

The girl was residing with her mother in the city of Antakya, which was hit by the quake. She was buried there at the request of her family, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Monday.



The ministry added that it is continuing to follow up on the condition of all Jordanian citizens in Syria and Turkey in the aftermath of the earthquakes that struck the two countries last week.

The ministry also renewed its call for Jordanians in both Syria and Turkey to contact the Kingdom’s embassies in Damascus and Ankara for assistance. Those in need of help can also call the ministry’s the Operations Center Unit at 00962795497777, or e-mail op.ctr@fm.gov.jo.
