In the early hours of Saturday, the Southern Military Region of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army successfully foiled a drug smuggling attempt using a drone on its western border.

A military source from the General Command stated that Border Guard forces, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, detected and tracked a drone attempting to cross from west to east. Upon identifying the threat, rules of engagement were applied, resulting in the drone being downed inside Jordanian territory.
The seized materials were immediately transferred to the relevant authorities.
The source reaffirmed the Jordanian Armed Forces' commitment to employing all available resources and capabilities to prevent the infiltration of narcotics into the Kingdom and safeguard national security.
