Jordan welcomes killing of Taliban leader

AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry welcomed a US announcement that Al-Qaeda Ayman Al-Zawahiri was killed in drone attack in Afghanistan, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

Ministry spokesperson Haitham Abu Alfoul said that Monday’s killing was a “stern message” that there is no safe place for terrorism and terrorists.

The ministry said that terrorism is a common enemy, and that Jordan works with its partners in combating terrorism and countering terrorist organizations that target innocents and destabilize security and stability.

Abu Alfoul noted the importance of the continued concerted efforts of the international community to eradicate terrorism from its roots.
