AMMAN — Senate President
Faisal al-Fayez said that Jordan has been targeted by “a vicious and systematic campaign on
various foreign platforms to undermine the Kingdom and His Majesty King
Abdullah II’s stances and pivotal role in various regional issues.”

At the opening a session on Sunday, Fayez said the
campaign is aimed at affecting His Majesty’s unwavering positions towards just
Arab causes and the so-called “deal of the century”. The Senate President
called for countering such “vicious campaigns and false news and standing in
unity against haters”.
“Such lies and misleading and miserable news will
only increase Jordan’s resolve and the Kingdom will always remain synonymous
with security and stability,” Al-Fayez said, adding that “regardless of our
political orientations and stances on various domestic and Arab issues, we
should unite in the homeland’s trench, counter malicious targeting and stand
behind His Majesty the King in his non-stop quest for Jordan’s stability and
decent living for its citizens.”
