Jordan records 2,699 new COVID-19 cases today

AMMAN — The number of COVID-19 deaths recorded on Tuesday reached 64, according to The Ministry of Health, while a total of 2,699 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Tuesday, bringing the death toll to 8,372 and the caseload to 692,181.اضافة اعلان

Breaking down Tuesday’s tally, the ministry said:

935 cases were recorded in Amman
493 in Irbid
310 in Zarqa
139 in Balqa
203 in Mafraq
88 in Jerash
109 in Karak
106 in Ajloun
51 in Madaba
72 in Aqaba
101 in Ma'an
92 in Tafilah

The ministry added in a statement that some 5,232 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 265 others were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 34,091, according to the ministry’s statement.

649,718 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, have fully recovered so far.

Around 13.76 percent of the 19,621 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
