Jordan records 2,097 new COVID-19 cases today

AMMAN — The number of COVID-19 deaths recorded on Thursday reached 45, according to The Ministry of Health, while a total of 2,097 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Thursday, bringing the death toll to 8,474 and the caseload to 697,487.اضافة اعلان

Breaking down Thursday’s tally, the ministry said:

797 cases were recorded in Amman
457 in Irbid
272 in Zarqa
79 in Balqa
91 in Mafraq
63 in Jerash
65 in Karak
56 in Ajloun
66 in Madaba
52 in Aqaba
36 in Ma'an
63 in Tafilah

The ministry added in a statement that some 3,794 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 221 others were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 30,726, according to the ministry’s statement.

658,287 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, have fully recovered so far.

Around 11.5 percent of the 18,228 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
