Jordan pavilion held Press conference within Expo2020 Dubai

AMMAN — On Thursday, the Jordan pavilion at Expo2020 Dubai held a press conference during the Travel and Communication Week, in the presence of Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef Al-Fayez, JTB Director-General Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, Secretary-General of  Ministry of Investment Zaher Al-Qatarneh and the Assistant Director-General of the Jordan Board of Tourism Yazan Khudair.اضافة اعلان

The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Nayef Al-Fayez, spoke during the conference about the most prominent strategic and national axes of Jordanian tourism, which were launched recently to contribute positively to alleviating the tourism sector and helping it to face the repercussions of the pandemic, pointing out that the strategy was to be launched in 2020, but due to the Corona pandemic, its launch was delayed. Some modifications was added to adapt to the emerging conditions due to the pandemic.

The government, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Jordan Board of Tourism took measures to deal with the pandemic, which were represented in four stages: response, recovery, restart, and reforms, stressing that the ministry is working to exploit the opportunities available to raise the preparation of tourists coming to the Kingdom in a thoughtful manner.

Through domestic tourism, Fayez stressed Jordan's pursuit to empower local communities, promote small and medium enterprises, and mitigate the damage caused to the sector as a result of the pandemic.

Director-General of the Jordan Board of Tourism Abdelrazzaq Arabiyat affirmed the board's intention to promote the Kingdom to attract the largest possible number of tourists.

The tourism sector is an important economic sector that increases GDP, employment, and hard currency. Jordan is considered one of the main tourist destinations in the region and the world.
