AMMAN — A
judicial body specialized in medical errors at the Amman Court of First
Instance awarded a patient who was proved to have suffered from medical
malpractice JD10,000, according to a local media outlet.
According to the court’s transcripts, the
patient saw a doctor while complaining of urological problems. The doctor
performed an operation without running any tests.
The court found that there was “a lack of
medical care” and asked the doctor to pay the sum of JD9,062 to the patient,
including fees, expenses, and legal interest from the date of the claim until
full payment.
