AMMAN - Minister of Health, Dr. Firas Hawari, on Thursday discussed with his counterpart in the Libyan National Unity Government, Dr. Ali Zanati, ways to enhance bilateral relations, especially in the health field.
Speaking at the meeting, Hawari briefed Zanati on Jordan's "key" achievements at the level of Ministry of Health, foremost is launching internationally accredited centers for specialized nursing and medicine training.
Hawari noted Zanati's visit reflects the "deep-rooted' relations between the two countries' health ministries and keenness to strengthen ties with the Arab countries.
The two ministers discussed mechanisms for resolving outstanding issues, with the aim of continuing and developing cooperation at the academic, training, and medical tourism levels, a ministry statement said.
For his part, the Libyan minister expressed appreciation for the efforts made by health workers in Jordanian health sector, and their attention to Libyan patients.
Zanati also lauded the sector's efforts to overcome some difficulties and facilitate admission procedures for Libyan patients receiving treatment in Jordanian hospitals.
